Conscious Creator: Alex King Harris

In the last few months, I have gotten to know Alex King Harris.

Alex is the founder of Yogitunes, an independent streaming music platform for yoga, health and wellness practices. In addition, he is a longtime creator, being part of the origins of Desert Dwellers, Shamans Dream, Liquid Bloom and other projects.

If anyone combines music and spirituality, it is Alex. It has been a true pleasure getting to know him.

Alex delivered the last Music for Seekers show for Beach Radio, taking us on an ecstatic dance journey. Let’s get to know Alex some more.

How and when did you first embark on your spiritual journey?

My spiritual journey began at age 10, captivated by Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze". It was a blend of my passion for music and art, awakening a profound reverence for music's power that echoed my childhood's devotional feelings.

However, the real turning point was a near-fatal car accident in my late teens, which thrust me into a deep exploration of human existence.

Recovering, I found myself at a jazz school where I met a mentor deeply rooted in Eastern spirituality, which truly opened the door for me.

Another pivotal moment was discovering the art of vocal toning through "The Mozart Effect," a gift from my mother. This practice, along with meditation, significantly deepened my spiritual connection.

What role does music or sound play in your spiritual practice?

Music and sound are the essence of my spiritual practice and my perception of reality itself. They represent a universal language of resonance, interference, rhythm, and harmony, offering a profound understanding of the cosmos's creative and destructive forces. This awareness reminds me of our interconnectedness, guiding me to attune myself to the universal symphony of life, ensuring I'm harmoniously integrated into the flow of existence.

What are your major projects this year, and what should people be on the lookout for?

This year, I'm excited to launch "Evolve Well," a groundbreaking platform designed to bridge healers and their clients beyond sessions. Alongside this, I'm integrating my signature wellness practices that encompass deep breathwork, vocal liberation, and community building. I'm committed to offering both online and in-person sessions as we grow "Evolve Well." It's a journey of wellness and connection I can't wait to share.
